Break The Root Research Team

Company Background

GreenLeaf Horticultural Supply Co. runs a greenhouse telemetry portal called SensorHub. Staff use it to submit temperature and humidity readings from field sensors.

The Incident

Reported by: Mason R., Greenhouse Operations
Subject: Sensor packet errors after malformed submissions

Bad telemetry packets return unusually specific backend errors. The same backend receives data from the web portal and from raw sensor connections.

The detail worth following: failed packets mention Python deserialization instead of ordinary form validation.
