1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Break The Root ("the Platform," "we," "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform. If you are under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or guardian to use it.
3. Acceptable Use
The Platform provides intentionally vulnerable machines for educational purposes, accessible only within your own isolated, private lab environment. You agree to:
- Use the Platform solely for learning and skill development within the provided lab environments.
- Never use techniques, tools, or knowledge gained on this Platform against any system, network, or service you do not own or have explicit written authorization to test.
- Not attempt to attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Platform's own infrastructure, other users' lab environments, or any system outside your assigned, isolated machine.
- Not share your VPN configuration files, account credentials, or lab access with any other person.
- Not use the Platform to develop or test malware, ransomware, or tools intended for unauthorized real-world attacks.
Violating this section may result in immediate account suspension or termination, and, where applicable, reporting to relevant authorities.
4. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
5. Content and Intellectual Property
All lab content, challenges, writeups, lab notes, and platform materials are the property of Break The Root unless otherwise stated. You may not redistribute, republish, or resell this content without permission. You retain ownership of any original content you submit (such as community contributions), but grant us a license to display it on the Platform.
6. No Warranty
The Platform is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and lab environments, infrastructure, or specific machines may be modified, removed, or temporarily unavailable without notice.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Break The Root is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of access, or misuse of knowledge gained through the Platform by you or others.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, particularly for violations of Section 3 (Acceptable Use), without prior notice.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
